64-bit (64-bit, x64)

Mar 31 2013

Within the framework of computer architecture by the term "64-bit" we understand 64-bit integers and other data types having the size of 64 bits. By "64-bit systems" we understand 64-bit architectures of microprocessors (for example, EM64T, IA-64) or 64-bit operating systems (for example, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition). We can speak about compilers generating 64-bit program code or specialized tools performing test of 64-bit code (for example, Viva64).
