# Installing PVS\-Studio JavaScript and TypeScript analyzer \(pvs\-js\)

## pvs\-js dependencies

To run `pvs-js`, Node\.js versions 18\-24, npm, and PVS\-Studio C\+\+ analyzer are required\.

To install `pvs-js` via a package manager, the dependencies are installed automatically\. When installing from an archive, install the C\+\+ analyzer and the other dependencies manually\. See the relevant documentation sections for installation instructions on [Linux](https://pvs-studio.com/en/docs/manual/0039/) and [macOS](https://pvs-studio.com/en/docs/manual/0042/)\.

## Windows

To install `pvs-js`, select the **JavaScript and TypeScript analysis engine** option\. `pvs-js` requires Node\.js version 18\-24\. If Node\.js is not installed on your system, the installer will offer to install it\. On the installer page, you can also choose to install the WebStorm plugin\.

## Linux

### Installation from repositories

**For debian\-based systems**

Before Debian 11 and Ubuntu 22\.04:

sudo wget -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/viva64.list \

Debian 11 and Ubuntu 22\.04 and newer:

sudo apt-get install pvs-js

**For yum\-based systems:**

yum install pvs-js

**For zypper\-based systems:**

### Manual installation

To install, use the following command:

**Deb package**

sudo gdebi pvs-js-VERSION.deb
```

or

```cpp
sudo apt-get -f install pvs-js-VERSION.deb
```

**Rpm package**

```cpp
sudo dnf install pvs-js-VERSION.rpm
```

or

```cpp
sudo zypper install pvs-js-VERSION.rpm
```

or

```cpp
sudo yum install pvs-js-VERSION.rpm
```

or

```cpp
sudo rpm -i pvs-js-VERSION.rpm
```

**Archive**



```cpp
tar -xzf pvs-js-VERSION.tar.gz
sudo ./install.sh
```

## macOS

### Installation from Homebrew

Installation commands:

```cpp
brew install viva64/pvs-studio/pvs-js
```

Update commands:

```cpp
brew upgrade pvs-studio-js
```

### Installer

Run the `.pkg` file and follow the instructions\. On the **Installation Type** page, click the **Customize** button and select the components you want to install\.

#### Archive

To install from the archive, run:

unzip pvs-js-VERSION.zip
sudo ./install.sh
```
