﻿# 64\-bit \(64\-bit, x64\)

Within the framework of computer architecture by the term "64\-bit" we understand 64\-bit integers and other data types having the size of 64 bits\. By "64\-bit systems" we understand 64\-bit architectures of microprocessors \(for example, [EM64T](https://pvs-studio.com/en/blog/terms/0014/), [IA\-64](https://pvs-studio.com/en/blog/terms/0017/)\) or 64\-bit operating systems \(for example, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition\)\. We can speak about compilers generating 64\-bit program code or specialized tools performing test of 64\-bit code \(for example, [Viva64](https://pvs-studio.com/en/pvs-studio/)\)\.
